We’re happy to announce DailyLit’s new Big Read–3 Short Reads by Edgar Allan Poe. When we asked you to suggest authors for our next Big Read, a number of you mentioned Poe, the famous master of horror (by the way, thanks for the suggestions!). Since there are so many great Poe stories (and we couldn’t decide on one), we figured we’d choose three famous short ones: The Tell-Tale Heart, The Masque of the Red Death, and The Raven. You can read all three in just 7 installments–one week’s worth of reading. Come join the Big Read and experience Poe with thousands of others!

I am new to this site as a registered member…at least I hope I did the registration correctly. I do not understand much of the terminology you are using, as Twitter, Url, etc. Please explain. THANK YOU. I really have been enjoying my selections and look forward to more pleasurable reading.

@JM Doerpinghaus: Welcome! Glad to hear you’re enjoying DailyLit. Here’s answers to the questions you asked: Twitter (www.twitter.com) is a social networking site that allows users to “tweet” short updates to their friends. A URL is the location of a site on the web; it’s what appears in the address bar at the top of your browser. So, when you visit DailyLit, the URL you’re visiting is http://www.dailylit.com. Hope that helps! Let us know at support@dailylit.com if you have any questions.

@maryam: Welcome to you too! It looks like you successfully created a profile but haven’t yet started reading any books. The process of creating a DailyLit profile is separate from reading books. To start reading, find a book you’d like to read (start at http://www.dailylit.com), fill out the subscribe box, and press the big green button that says “Read Me.” Send us a note at support@dailylit.com if you have any questions.
